I was born in Frankfort, Indiana; the third and last child in my family. (I say they quit when they couldn’t improve on perfection…my dad says they quit because they were so shook up!)
I grew up with a dog named Cindy who was the same age, year for year, that I was. She died when I was 16.
I first met my husband when I was in 7th grade. He knew my older sister because they both played French Horn in band.
I dated my husband’s best friend when I was a freshman and my husband, his long-term girlfriend, and his best friend were all seniors. We double dated all the time.
I first dated my husband right before he left for his freshman year of college, after we both broke up with our
other “significant others”. This period of dating only lasted until early the next year, when my husband “dropped” me because having a “hometown honey” was not cool…

We started dating again after my freshman year in college, and things moved steadily from there.
We will be married 28 years this next May.
I have many hobbies and interests, including photography, videography, computers, dogs and horses, sewing, and walking.
Heath bars are by far my favorite candy.
I had a tumor on my left ring finger that was removed three times before I was “cured”. The last surgery was when I was 20, and all the surgeries permanently deformed that fingernail.
I had hepatitis A in 1977.
I graduated from the Purdue Veterinary School in 1982.
I told my parents when I was 5 years old that I wanted to be a veterinarian.
I told my parents in my early teens that I wanted to adopt children.
According to my parents, I was always bringing sick or stray animals of all kinds into our home.
I once had a pet chicken named Peter. His brother, Napoleon, (my sister’s “pet”) was a wild bird who would dive bomb anyone in his vicinity…
(More to come!)
