Two days left in the year 2006… and I am sitting at my main PC with my left foot propped up on my desk, still trying to drain the nasty stuff from my toe. Of course, this position aggravates my ˝ century old back…. Sigh. But all in all, I have MUCH to be happy about.
My folks headed back to snowy Colorado yesterday and somehow managed to land in Denver in spite of the second huge snowstorm that threatened to shut down DIA. We had a wonderful time while they were here. They both look good and more rested than they did in October. I am grateful.
On the 28th we acquired Ben, our 4th and newest dog. As expected, Reilly had her nose out of joint, but adjusted much more quickly than any of us imagined. This morning the two Border collies were happily chasing each other around the dining room table. The old dog, Chance, was unhappy that the two young squirts were disturbing her beauty rest…

But perhaps the thing I have to be the most happy about was Amy’s attitude and participation over the holidays. We included her on Christmas Eve celebrations, although Kyle and Marie were not yet here. And of course, we included Amy on Christmas day, and the 26th, and my birthday on the 27th. As I mentioned previously, she did an excellent job of shopping for everyone. My husband and I enjoyed our Transiberian orchestra concert, notwithstanding the very obnoxious and drunk lady (who was about my age and most definitely should have known better) who ultimately was carried out by her husband/boyfriend/whatever about two songs before the end of the concert.
More coming about my renewed hopes that Amy is starting to figure some things out… (Take note of the life in her eyes and the genuine smile in these pictures... rarely seen before.)
