Sean and StephanieStephanie sang a duet with her boyfriend, Sean. While I have often heard Stephanie belting out a worship song or something from her favorite musical, Wicked, I have not heard her perform in a ceremony as she did Sunday afternoon at the wedding. She and Sean blew us all away. The song was beautiful, their delivery was beautiful, and countless people made a point of telling us how moved they were by the whole performance. I can’t wait to see the wedding video. (Considering that every time I looked up from the dance floor at the reception, the videographer was pointing his camera at me and grinning, the wedding video should be interesting on many counts!) Not only did people comment on the wonderful performance delivered by Stephanie and Sean, but more than one person commented on the chemistry evident between the two of them as well. Hmmm...

Marie is half Armenian, therefore the wedding ceremony was a fabulous blend of Armenian tradition and contemporary ideas. There were two Armenian priests in attendance and one of them was Marie’s grandfather! He was a delightful addition to the ceremony. The kids wrote their own vows and did a wonderful job.

Because Kyle and his father have always been very, very close, Kyle asked Larry to be the best man. At the rehearsal dinner, Kyle passed out gifts to his groomsmen and commented about the role each one played in his life. When Kyle started talking about Larry, both men became emotional. There was hardly a dry eye in the house. Kyle said he thought some folks might think it was a little “weird” to have his dad be his best man, but he didn’t care. He said his dad was his best friend and it was a quick and easy decision to choose Larry as his best man.

Both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding ceremony reflected a great deal of love and relational strength exhibited by many different families. Although the bride’s parents are divorced and remarried, there were many examples of strong and stable family units on both sides. As I watched and felt the emotions, I wondered what, if anything, Tommy and Amy were getting out of it. Stay tuned!

The duet was beautiful as was the whole ceremony. Enjoyed watching your kids grow up and wouldn't have wanted to miss this event in Kyle's life for anything.

Amy seemed to enjoy dancing. Had some other lovely facial expressions the rest of the time, but the dancing she liked.

Can't wait to hear more.

She seemed pretty scowly(is that a word?) during the wedding. She seemed a little uncomfortable/out of place most other places. But she seemed happy on the dance floor.

I was more unnerved by Tommy's decision to sit next to me. It seemed pretty deliberate and awfully weird though it might just be my PTSD.

Amy had her normal pouty face on while walking down the aisle. Never did a smile cross her lips. Forced smile during photos, but otherwise very little expression on her face.

The more interesting part was during the family photos. When you added Sean to the photo, Tommy became very upset. When Sean put his arm around Stephanie, Tommy glared holes into Sean, and turned away. Wish I had caught it on camera, but it was a very quick thing.

Stephanie did tell me that she and Sean have had "discussions" about their possible union. Would love to see that one!!
