Since this it the Reactive Attachment Disorder blog, it is supposed to always (or at least most of the time) have something to do with attachment. Well, I have learned you can find attachment in nearly everything! The Bed & Breakfast my mom and I spent two days enjoying was a mecca of attachment.Ken and Bunny

Take, for instance, Ken and his horse Bunny. Ken caught Bunny as she was exiting her mother… and do you think they are bonded? I put my camera on 5 frames a second and just let it whir. “Give Daddy a kiss…. That’s my girl!”

RoosterThis Bed & Breakfast was a hoot. My mom and I landed in a place where even the rooster (named Rooster) was loved and pampered. The second morning we were there, Rooster joined us as we were sitting on the back porch awaiting our call to breakfast. Rooster sat on the railing and serenaded us. I decided to head back to our cottage and get my camera. Rooster followed me. I came out of the cottage and spied Ken doing horse chores, so I headed over to tell him what great pictures I had captured of him and Bunny. Rooster was growing impatient for me to “pet” him, so he attacked my bare leg! Reflexively, I shook my foot to remove the offending bird… and Ken said, “No, no, no, don’t kick him, pick him up and pet him!” And before I knew it, I had a rooster stuck under my arm and I was heading back to the porch. Rooster was now a happy camper. Ken made me feel terrible (not his intent) for giving the rooster the boot.

These folks take their “domestic” birds on the back porch and never worry about them flying away. Rather, the birds sit on the back porch and advertise to any other bird looking for a home what a good deal can be found at Equus Meadows! Ken says when the other horses in the neighborhood escape, they can be found in Ken’s front yard. When Ken’s horses escape, they can be found in Ken’s front yard…

Next up, Mom’s horseback ride… the 83-year-old rider on the 30-year-old mount.

Leave it to you to have a B&B filled with animals. Neat stories and sounds like a great place to stay.

Are you sure that you are not related to Dr. Dolittle?
